Cigna is an American multinational managed healthcare and insurance company based in Bloomfield, Connecticut. Pharma Web Portal (PWP) is a B2B web application that allows pharma manufactures to view and manage invoices, reports and make payments from Cigna. I helped craft wireframes and mid-high fidelity mockups for the Premium tier dashboards, re-imagine the home page experience and optimized various areas of the application to improve overall flow and user experience.
Pharma Web Portal was a central place for pharma manufacturers to view how their drugs are performing in the market place.
My Role
- Worked on the discovery team to uncover needs for the Premium Dashboard user experience
- Design wireframes to pull ideas presented at the table into visual results.
- Redesigned home page experience
- Enhanced the flow of the entire portal experience
- Discovery, mockup and prototyping, UI design
Results
- Helped the marketing team craft a product that was sellable vs prior revisions.
- Created additional marketing opportunities through product design.
- Helped the product team see the importance of the user experience through the flow from entering the application through to finding their desired results. The voice of the user was incorporated into the design rather than implementing requirements only.
- Streamlined the application flow allowing for scalability for future additions.

I started on the Discovery team crafting wireframes of the Premium Dashboard offerings for Pharma Web Portal application.
I joined the Discovery team for Pharma Web Portal (PWP), initially tasked with creating wireframes for premium dashboards. As collaboration with stakeholders progressed, these wireframes evolved into mid-high fidelity mockups. During this process, I uncovered an overlooked issue regarding dashboard discovery within the PWP experience. Existing solutions lacked scalability and clarity on accessing dashboards.
The wireframes presented depict the design of an in-depth medical dashboard. Users are guided from the dashboard home screen to various sections for an in-depth analysis of information. Each section of the dashboard is designed to offer a comprehensive overview while also enabling a deeper dive into specific data points as needed. The layout is strategically organized to ensure that users can easily access and interact with various elements, facilitating an intuitive user experience. The design prioritizes clarity and efficiency, ensuring that users can quickly find and explore the information they need for informed decision-making.

During this process, I uncovered an overlooked issue regarding dashboard discovery within the PWP experience.
To enhance the Pharma Web Portal experience, I identified and addressed this previously overlooked aspect of dashboard access. Presenting my concerns to the team, I provided sample mockups for a redesigned Home page, offering a more intuitive entry point and enhancing dashboard discovery. Moreover, I optimized various areas of the application, including reporting, analytics, Invoice access, Messaging Center, AdHoc Reporting and Administration/Settings pages, to improve overall flow and user experience.
These mockups have undergone multiple iterations due to changes in project requirements. Each iteration reflects adjustments made to accommodate new demands and ensure alignment with evolving goals. The frequency of revisions highlights the dynamic nature of the project and the need for flexibility in the design process. The ability to adapt to changing requirements is a critical aspect of successfully delivering a user-centric and relevant final product.

The presentation resonated well, capturing the interest of the marketing team. This prompted a redesign of the entire portal experience to ensure better access of other portal features enhancing the overall experience for the user.
The presentation resonated well, capturing the interest of the marketing team. Recognizing the potential benefits, they embraced the proposed changes to bolster their sales pitch for the Pharma Web Portal. This strategic shift led to the division of offerings into standard and premium tiers, aligning better with customer preferences.
In addition to dashboard design, I spearheaded the development of PWP’s premium dashboards and collaborated on crafting a prototype for the marketing team. Furthermore, I organized the design team’s Figma components and implemented the Atomic Design methodology, enhancing component organization and efficiency.

Conducted Figma Workshops
Lastly, I conducted Figma workshops to empower the team with comprehensive knowledge of Figma features and best practices, fostering a culture of efficient collaboration and streamlined design processes.
